Hey friends, and happy new week to Y-O-U! I took a week off from blogging last week because things have been incredibly low key, but after 2 weeks, I have enough shenanigans to share so let’s get to it!
First up, I attended a meditation retreat with the meditation group I joined in the DFW area. Christina and I went together – it was a big blessing to have a buddy with me as I was a little nervous about it. Most everyone who attended was from the meditation group who I had met before, and there were some new people too. The retreat was one full day and it was absolutely wonderful. We did a guided meditation, a heart-opening ceremony, break-out groups, sharings, and dinner. The whole day was incredibly uplifting, and I was surprised at how vulnerable I could be with a group of (almost) strangers. It also brought me and Christina closer too, which I’m super grateful for. Definitely a highlight of the new year so far. ā¤

A winter front hit Texas, and Sam and Christina’s property turned into one huge ice rink and we were snowed in for about 5 days…luckily we did not lose power and we had enough food and water for the week. Mordecai got a little stir-crazy, so we spent a lot of time chasing each other around the house. š

After 5 days, Joe and I finally got out for errands and dinner in town. It felt so nice to get out! It’s amazing how simple things like walking around a store and doing groceries felt like such a blessing.

I’m back on the yoga train, and I try to practice most mornings after coffee. Mordecai acts like he’s never seen a yoga mat before, and he gets so excited and treats me like his personal playground while I’m working out. š

Not sure if I should feel proud or ashamed that I’ve spent over 100 hours on my Stardew Valley farm…

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. š

Last but not least, we had a double birthday party over the weekend! It was Joe’s niece’s and nephew’s birthdays, and their parents, Dane and Brittany, threw a tornado-themed birthday bash at their house. I loved all the details they put into the theme; all the food and decoration was spot on. It was so nice to see Joe’s family all in one gathering and get some time with the kids too. ā¤

Have a great weekend, friends!!!
