Video tour of my studio apartment in the Haight, San Francisco!

Without further ado…I present a video tour of my fabulous studio apartment! I’ve been talking about this video for the last few blog posts and it’s so exciting to finally share it.

I’ve been living here for a month now and it’s basically been my little project since the new year. Between the always emotional process of apartment hunting, getting rid of my junk on Craigslist, moving, planning, buying furniture and decorating this place, I can’t believe how much has happened in the last two months.

Now that the dust has settled, I’m so grateful that I took the leap to live alone (for a second time). For long-time followers of this blog, you might remember many moons ago I tried living alone in Astoria, Queens, and I was so lonely that I broke my lease to move back to Manhattan and live with three Craigslist strangers. Now almost 5 years later, I’m in a much better spot in life and am ready to give this another try. I’m happy with my job, I’m in the healthiest relationship of my life, and I truly feel like San Francisco is home. I now see living alone as an intentional step towards building my future in California, versus an experimental life change like the first time.

Every time I look around this apartment, I feel so darn proud of myself and feel like this badass independent woman! This place is honestly the closest I’ve felt to a home in my 20s. Even though I lived in my last SF apartment for 3.5 years, I had different roommates and never felt like the place was my own. I also traveled so much before the pandemic (for work and fun) that I had a weird fear of settling in any place since I always wanted to be on the go. I guess it was a world pandemic that forced me to prioritize being comfortable in my own space.

Okay enough of the sappy stuff. I hope you enjoy the video as much as we did making it. I say we because let’s face it – Joe was the creative master behind all of the filming/editing, so big shout out to him. πŸ™‚
