Things have been pretty quiet around here lately, but Joe and I got out for one fun activity last weekend that filled my adventure craving. I was inspired by my recent day trip to Bass Lake with Rachel, and so Joe and I decided to do our own day trip across the Golden Gate bridge.
We drove along Highway 1 to Sonoma Coast State Park. I’ve done the Hwy 1 roadtrip several times driving south from SF to San Diego, but this was my first time driving north of SF on the scenic PCH. The views were just as beautiful with wind-y coastal roads with beaches on one side and the dry Sonoma farms on the other.
We got to the park and were originally going to attempt a strenuous 6-mile hike, but Joe and I were both feeling lazy so we opted for a flat coastal walk instead. The views were super gorgeous as we had that classic California coast to enjoy. After living in California for 3 years, I’ve started taking for granted having the beautiful coast at my fingertips…but seeing different parks with different view helps me appreciate the natural beauty of this state. π

Our hike turned into more of a leisurely walk which was perfect for us. β€

After the park, we drove down the coast to reach Bodega Bay, a super cute coastal town with small shops and restaurants. We found a seafood restaurant right on the water and scored tables with waterfront views! I had a glass of white wine and we shared some seafood entrees. I haven’t sat down for a restaurant meal in ages so this really felt like a treat. We took our time savoring our drinks and soaking in the views before heading back to SF.

Thanks for stopping by!
