Happy Friday! Or Saturday. Or whatever day it is…is it just me or does every day feel the same lately? Life here has been quiet, simple, and honestly a great blessing in many ways for me. I use to get really antsy when faced with routine and boredom, but this whole city being in quarantine has made me find happiness in simplicity:
- My diet is the healthiest it’s ever been. What a difference does it make to cook your own food every day! I’ve never been the biggest fan of cooking and typically see it as a chore, but with all this extra time, I love taking my time in the kitchen, trying new recipes, and even cleaning afterwards (is that weird?). Joe and I have a good routine where we usually eat frozen/prepared food for lunch, and cook a “real” meal together for dinner.
- Overall feeling more rested and relaxed. I’ve been getting 9-10 hours of sleep every night, and overall feel a lot less stressed compared to being in an office setting, a luxury I haven’t had in ages.
- Growing my relationship with Joe. We’ve been spending almost every minute together as “quarantine buddies,” and wow we’re still in love! I’m actually grateful for this unique time of our lives when we’re not distracted by life things (e.g. work, social events)…and just get to be with each other ā¤
My latest impulse purchase…rollerblades!!! I’ve been wanting to buy these babies since I noticed a large skater community in SF. I learned to skate as a kid and thought this was a fun, unique way to get some outdoorsy exercise (we were getting a little sick of the same hikes in SF).

I convinced Joe to get a longboard too. It was so much fun practicing together on an isolated path in Golden Gate park. I love to ski and Joe loves to snowboard, so I feel like these were the equivalents on ground. š

A little video of us cruisin’ together :). This will definitely become our new thang.
The weather here has been pretty stellar, so we’ve been doing our usually walks/hikes in the local parks. Joe is a huge plant nerd, and I’ve learned to love them too through our walks. I feel like we’re an old couple slowly strolling and geeking out on all the native California flowers š

I got a new tarot card deck! It’s called the Wild Unknown, and it’s honestly the most beautiful deck I’ve ever seen. The pictures are so complex and vivid, and I’m really learning to hone in my skills of interpreting the prophecy. š

The guidebook is so beautifully written to. I read the whole thing in one sitting. š

And that’s the latest happenings around here. Our days mostly look like this, working in the same space on our projects with the cats next to us. I hope you’re all hanging in there and finding some peace during this time.

I’ve said this in past posts but please feel free to reach out if you want to connect…seems like online channels are what’s keeping us connecting these days and I love meeting you all in the blogosphere. š
