Moving day!

I hope you had a fantastic weekend! Things have been super busy around here (what else is new?), but also filled with excitement as we finally moved into our new apartment in San Francisco. It’s been about one month since we returned to the Bay Area, and during this time we were renting an Airbnb in Oakland. As unique as it was to live in East Bay, I’m not going to lie, we were counting down the days of returning to SF.

Our apartment is in Haight Ashbury – Joe’s and my favorite neighborhood in the city. There were definitely some “pinch me” moments last week as we settled in and familiarized ourselves with the neighborhood. Our neighborhood is peaceful, close to nature, has sweeping city views, and filled with quintessential SF charm.

Needless to say, moving day was hectic, but I’m glad we finally closed out the lease to our storage unit. I’m so excited to see our stuff after one year!

We locked the cats in the bathroom while the movers did their thing – they didn’t seem to mind though. 😉

After the move – it was time to unpack. We were slightly overwhelmed with the amount of stuff we had, but we tackled things one-by-one, and we got a lot done in a few days, including selling some pieces of furniture as this apartment is a little smaller than our last one. We’re nearly 100% unpacked and I can’t wait to transition to the fun stuff like decorating and building our plant collection again.

Despite the chaos, the cats are in SUCH a good mood. They recognize our things from storage, and I suspect they understand that this is our “final” home after a year of traveling.

After a few days in the new apartment, I hit the road again! If you follow my Instagram, you might have seen that I’m in my hometown in New York for Mother’s Day. I’m so excited to fill you in on this next week. In the meantime, have a great week! 🙂
