Country bonfire + kid’s park date + Texas eats

We are in the final countdown of living in Texas. This past week was eventful – mostly centered around planning our move back to San Francisco. Our spirits are high as we are so excited to jumpstart our lives again, but at the same time, the nostalgia is real knowing that we are leaving Texas soon. I’ve loved our time here so naturally, I feel sentimental about leaving our second home.

We went over to Sam and Christina’s over the weekend for a bonfire. It was so nice to catch up, and of course, to see their dog, Mordecai. Living with Sam and Christina for 2 months this year was an absolute joy, and I loved being back on their large property and enjoying the peaceful vibes. We ordered pizza, roasted s’mores, and stayed warm by the fire.

Another weekend highlight – we met up with Joe’s brother and his wife, Dane and Brittany, and their two adorable kiddos, Reese and Preston, for a park date. We caught up over Chick-fil-a and playtime with the kids on the playground. The kids are so adorable, and I love being a part of their lives. I’m definitely going to miss being close to Joe’s family, and we are savoring this quality time before we take off.

Spring is starting to bloom in Texas. Joe and I walked at the Allen Dam and enjoyed the wildflowers.

We saw Sam and Christina again for dinner in Frisco. For a while now, I talked about eating dim sum together, and we finally made the trip. Joe and I have gone several times together, but since it was Sam and Christina’s first time, I ordered for the table. Soup dumplings, pork buns, and radish cakes…it was a huge hit!

We couldn’t leave Texas without eating barbeque one more time. Joe and I met his sister, Anna, and her roommate, Nicole, for a lunch date at Hutchin’s BBQ. We waited an hour in line, but it was so worth it. My mouth waters thinking about this meal.

The rest of the week was spent at the trailer park and bonding with our cats. The perfect balance of being productive and downtime.

Have a great week!! 🙂
