Hello 24 + birthday week in Texas

Hey you guys. Guess what? I’m officially 24 years old! My birthday was this past Wednesday and the highlight of my week. I was in Texas for work these past few days, and even though I spent most of my actual birthday on an airplane, I still felt showered with love and seriously blessed for everything and everyone in my life. 24 is already off to an amazing start, and I have a feeling this will be my best year yet.

**Before diving in, I want to quickly say that my heart goes out to those in Houston and areas affected by the hurricane…I was fortunate to be inland enough to not experience the damage, but to my close friends and others who have had their homes completely devastated, my prayers go to you.**

This past week was such a treat to take time off of client work and be in training for 3 days with my closest friend from New York. Christine, Phil, and our New York office friends spent all of our free time together and it gave me the warm & fuzzies to reunite with all of them again.

We all stayed in a ranch outside of Dallas that is used for our firm trainings. SUPER nice with free food everyone, amazing gym, etc.

My favorites were evenings when we had down time and took walks/chilled in the wide of open space over a glass of wine.

On Tuesday, Christine threw together an impromptu get-together of our friends to ring in my birthday, sent through a meeting invite through out work emails…#professional ;). It was so nice to ring in another birthday with Christine and Phil just like the past few years!

I got home Wednesday evening and immediately went for a run. Is there any better way to celebrate?! It was the PERFECT warm evening with the sun setting, and I spent 5 miles reflecting on how so much has changed in my life this past year. This time last year I was in Iceland with Christine having a blast but also not ready to go back to “real life” in NYC. I was having major anxiety over someone I was dating and my life was going nowhere. Here I am a year later after uprooting my entire life across the country, and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I have some pretty amazing people in my life and more blessings than I can count, and I am so grateful to be entering 24 on this very high note ❤ (how’s that for oversharing on my blog?!)

I came home to a birthday present from my brother. He is the most generous person I know when it comes to presents, always spoiling me and my sister with fun gifts we never would have thought to buy ourselves. This time he killed it and got me a HAMMOCK!! I’ve been wanting one for a while now and will definitely be using it on my next outdoor adventure!

Later in the evening, Matt and Karan surprised me at my doorstep with cake and wine!! ❤ I was beyond surprised and happy – this was one of the nicest things anyone has done for me. I love these guys so much, and can’t wait to officially celebrate with them this weekend.
