What a BEAUTIFUL week it’s been! My week was a nice mix of small fun activities each day + a MASSIVE amount of studying. I’m a little less than 3 weeks out from the exam…and not gonna lie, I am FREAKING OUT. It is definitely crunch time.
In order to achieve the ever-so-difficult goal of finding #balance, I’ve been waking up around 6am every morning to hit the books before signing on for work, making room to have some downtime in the evenings…the only downside to this brilliant plan is that it does leave me pretty beat early in the night, so I’ve been sleeping at obscenely early hours. But overall, I think I found a good groove 🙂
Monday:
After an early day of studying + some time at the office, I took off early to meet Christine in K-Town. We went to a dessert spot called Grace Street…amazing. They had something called snow fluff, which was basically an asian ice cream sundae – mine was green tea ice cream with red bean, sweetened condensed milk, and boba…I was a very happy girl 🙂
Tuesday:
The morning started with 3 miles on the treadmill. Then a long day of studying + work. I used Tuesday as my “productive day.”
Wednesday:
This picture shows the number of miles I ran that morning ;). It was 60 degrees flat. Can the running gods make sure it’s that temperature every time I run? Thanks 🙂
In the evening, Christine visited me in Astoria, and we caught up over crepes and froyo. As you can tell, we have been eating very healthily lately 😛
It was so much fun to share stories of work and life with Christine. She’s starting a project in Pittsburgh next week so we’ve been trying to get in lots of quality time 🙂
Thursday
The highlight of this week was by far the Ta-ku concert! Ta-ku produces instrumental electronic/hip hop music. Scott, Phil and Christine are huge fans – I just started listening to him this week, but instantly took a liking and decided to hop on board.
After work, I headed over to Christine’s place in east village. We watched an episode of Are You The One (we bond over trashy reality tv…#don’tjudgeus), picked up dinner & alcohol, and then headed to her boyfriend’s place in Brooklyn where we met Phil and Scott.
It was such a blast chilling and pregaming with these guys. It’s been a long time since we all went out and it sure felt nice. Flashback to last winter during our firm’s busy season, we spent almost every waking hour together – long hours at the office followed by going to these concerts almost every weekend and even weekdays. Since then, work has brought us all to different places with different hours, so it was nice to finally get together again.
Scott said this photo looks like we’re in a late-80’s horror film 😛
The concert itself was pretty dope! It was at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple…literally in a church. As a born and raised church girl, it felt kind of surreal. Ta-Ku had a super positive energy, not afraid to dedicate his songs to specific people in his life. I wish him and his crew had more of a stage presence though – Phil, Scott and Christine are super appreciate of DJs performing live, but it’s hard for me to stay awake with someone kind of just standing there DJ-ing. I tried to focus on the music though, which was A+
A solid, productive week to lead into hopefully a relaxing weekend!!! Happy Friday y’all 🙂
