Outdoorsy and foodie adventures

As I look back on my phone pictures from the last two weeks, there haven’t been any major events, but rather several small memories that added up to a happy two weeks. The weather is starting to turn from rainy winter to sunny spring, and I’ve been taking advantage of it with daily walks outside, seeing friends, and yummy food. My mood has been brighter, and it’s been nice to lay low in San Francisco as Joe and I have some upcoming travel this week…more on that later. πŸ™‚

I had a few meet-up with friends, typically centered around food. It’s been a good mix of eating in and out. Carmina had me over her apartment and cooked a delicious meal for us. It was fun to catch up over the last few weeks and hang out with her adorable cat. Time with Carmina always feeds my soul. πŸ™‚

Also, some eating out with friends. I discovered 3 new places across San Francisco last week – all of them were phenomenal. After living here for 7 years, it feels like a treat to find a new restaurant that I love.

Spring is finally here, and the weather has been beautiful in SF! Almost every day, I go on a long walk, and it’s done wonders for my mood. The trails in Golden Gate Park have been full of wildflowers…

Beautiful magnolias in the Botanical Gardens.

One unique part of my neighborhood is that there are many city hikes with sweeping viewpoints of the city. I hiked up to Corona Heights, which I haven’t done in a long time. The views were breathtaking. These are the moments where I think, “I love this city.”

I wouldn’t be taking advantage of the sun without a trip to Ocean Beach! It seemed like the whole city had the same idea as the beach was packed with people playing volleyball and basking in the sun. It reminded me of Southern California vibes. I loved the energy.

Lastly, I’ve been cooking at home a lot. Last week, I made lemon orzo with scallops. I followed this recipe, and it was SO GOOD.

Another success: this Perfect Bar dupe recipe. I love Perfect Bars as they are so tasty and perfectly filling for my snack cravings. I’ve been eating a lot of Perfect Bars lately and thought I could save some money by making them myself. I really liked this recipe…it was like 80% similar to the actual ones. The only ingredient I will remove next time is the coconut oil, as I thought the coconut flavor was quite strong.

Thank you for reading the randomness of this post. I hope to see you back next week where I will recap my travel this week! πŸ™‚
