I have 2 weeks to catch you up on today, as last week, I shared a post outside of my usual life recaps (check out my skincare routine post). Overall, it’s been pretty tame around here. Work has been quite busy, so I’ve really appreciated my downtime.
Valentine’s Day was 2 weeks ago. I decided to do something different this year and cook a nice dinner for us at home. Joe loves steak, so I took on the challenge of cooking steak for the first time. I did a lot of research, and I have to say, it came out amazing!! It was flavorful and perfectly medium rare; we were both surprised at how nice my first steak was. It was a memorable Valentine’s Day that was just what we wanted this year.

The following week I tried cooking steak again, and it came out pretty terrible as we both got food poisoning. I’ve now determined to master steak as I won’t let that be the last time. 🙂
From my previous posts, you all know it’s been a very rainy winter in SF. We had to find ways to entertain ourselves on these rainy days, and museums have been a nice option. We went to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and I really enjoyed the exhibits. We went once together before, and this time I went at a slower pace and caught things I missed the first time.

On Saturday, it was sunny and clear, so Joe and I went out for an adventure. We did our favorite hike: a 4-mile out-and-back to Tennessee Valley Beach. We’ve done this so many times (including our third date!), and it never gets old. I could feel my happiness meter improve during the hike as the sun was SO refreshing after a busy week at the office.

With spring approaching, Joe and I have been working on our house plants. We’ve been trimming, repotting, propagating, and making changes for the upcoming season. We trimmed this monstera a few weeks ago and got a few propagations from it; after it stabilized, it was time to repot the plant. I could not believe the roots of this plant!! It was so satisfying to see all the growth and give it a new pot.

Random tangent — I’ve been eating a lot of yogurt for breakfast recently. I typically pick one breakfast food and eat it every day for months. Then when I get sick of it, I’ll switch to something else. After a few months of eating peanut butter oatmeal every day, I finally made a change. I discovered skyr which is an Icelandic yogurt that is creamier and less tangy than Greek yogurt. I love it! This cold brew flavor by Icelandic Provisions is my recent favorite. I was skeptical of coffee-flavored yogurt, but it’s surprisingly delicious.

Leaving you today with some cat cuteness…I hope you have a lovely week!
