Last week in SF: Beyoncé movie concert + holiday market + favorite foods

Hi friends! Things have been pretty quiet over here. This week is Joe’s and my last week in San Francisco for 2023. In a couple days, we are off for our holiday travels, making stops in Texas and New York to see both of our families. I am beyond excited and counting down the days. This time of year, I am inching to leave San Francisco and to be with loved ones. It also doesn’t help that SF is one of the least festive places to spend the holidays – I’m looking forward to big malls filled with holiday cheer and winter vibes!

Our last weekend in SF was low-key. We wanted nothing more than to chill before the holiday craziness. We did catch Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour at the movie theater. Similar to our Taylor Swift viewing a few weeks ago, Beyoncé released her latest concert in movie format, which was perfect for me and Joe. I’m a huge Beyoncé fan, but I don’t think I’ll ever be willing to pay those ticket prices. 😛 Overall, I thought the concert was phenomenal and even more engaging than Taylor Swift’s concert. I was at the edge of my seat the whole concert as I never knew what light effect/ colorful costume/ poppin’ dance move/ guest artist would appear next.

Since it’s our last week here, Joe and I have been scrambling to get presents for our loved ones. There was a holiday market in Golden Gate Park, which was one of the more festive holiday things I’ve seen in the city. We also did some shopping on Haight Street, right in our neighborhood.

Lots of good workouts happened lately. I’m really happy with my current workout routine as I’ve been focusing more on strength training, exclusively with Sydney Cummings. I’ve talked a bit about my workout philosophy on this blog, and I’m so happy with how far I’ve come this year (especially since I started the year with zero strength after my gap year). Right now, I like to split my days with upper body strength, lower body strength, and then recovery or yoga. For next year, I want to keep experimenting with different low-impact workouts.

Lastly, we ate a lot of yummy food over the weekend. We visited our favorite Japanese spot for katsu curry, our favorite Vietnamese spot for garlic noodles, and our favorite spot for mochi donuts. Very happy with our eating this weekend. 🙂

Next time I blog will be from Texas!!
