I Run Like A Girl

I’m so excited to share with you all on what’s coming up for me this summer 🙂

San Francisco Half Marathon – July 23rd

SF City Beer Run 10K – Rogue Brewery – August 12th

I couldn’t be more stoked to do these races in my new home city!! I was somewhat all over the place when deciding on what to do. Before moving here, I was set on doing an olympic triathlon end of summer. I wanted a fun race that would help me stay in shape before the fall race season, and I had so much fun training for my first tri last summer, I thought why not again!

But these past 3 weeks in SF have given me a change in heart. I’m having so much fun getting to know this city and my new friends – it’s summer after all and training 6 days a week for a triathlon no longer seemed like something I wanted to do. And so, I started looking into some fun/more chill running options i.e. different trail races around here. I was searching and marinating all week…and just couldn’t decide.

Then over the past few days, both of these races fell onto my lap. My old co-worker/mentor who’s now in SF reached out asking me if I wanted her SF Marathon bib since she could no longer run it…um yes!!! It has been sold out for months and I was dying to get a spot. I will be downgrading to the half marathon option (its only 5 weeks away!) and couldn’t be more excited.

Another one of my new girlfriends in the city also reached out asking to run the City Beer 10K together – it straight up sounded so fun and I was immediately in! A more relaxing race to end the summer with but keep me on my toes with training.

I think so many of the best things that have happened to me so far in SF have happened when I wasn’t looking. Funny how life just works itself out most of the time.
